tried it 1st yesterday, in da Bronx, before I went to the dentist.

I asked, if they had Canadian bacon, instead of regular bacon. the foreign clerk apparently never heard of Canadian bacon and smilingly replied, "we only have bacon from the U.S."

so, I explained that Canadian doesn't necessarily come from "Canada" (just like saying "French fries", which isn't necessarily from France), it's just a type of bacon that looks like sliced ham.

I also told her that the Dunkin' Donuts in Long Island serve Canadian bacon; which is why I asked her.
