counter easy hit

me in the hospital

Thursday night, my stomach started to ache. I tried to sleep it off, thinking it was just an extreme tummy ache. I could barely sleep.

Friday morning, I couldn't take the pain. I admitted myself to the emergency room.

Friday early evening (5pm), after several tests (urinalysis, x-ray on both the chest & abdomen) the only thing that detected my problem was the last test, an abdominal cat scan. I had 3 contrast agents in my body to make the images clearer. 2 went through my i.v., the other I had to drink, it didn't have a horrible taste, it was just too much liquid for me to drink with my tummy aching.

the doctor told me I had an early stage of appendicitis and that it would be best to do an appendectomy a.s.a.p. I had the surgery around 6:30pm.

the evening of the surgery, I could barely sleep because I started to feel the pain of the sugery which was more painful than the appendicitis. the initial painkillers had no effect. I had to be injected with something stronger.

today I was discharged.

I thought I could handle any pain thereafter; but I was wrong! when I tried to lay down, I started getting spasms that hurt more than the surgery!!! I was actually screaming for almost 15-20 min. because the pain would come and go. after finding the Tylenol I took 4 immediately! it helped a bit as I waited for my cousin to buy the Oxycodone w/ Acetaminophen. it did the trick! I didn't feel the pain as much.

Ouch. Hope you're feeling better, now. — tripleox, 26/03/2006 16:47

thanks! I'm feeling way better! I believe that the spasms were due to dehydration because it was mostly on my back and not on the area of the surgery. — Abraxias, 26/03/2006 18:01

That sounds awful. Get well soon! — babski, 27/03/2006 02:36
